Caressa Chen, MD, is the 2021 UC Space Health Fellow, leading research in the Space Health Sense Matrix initiative.

She is a General Surgery resident at Loyola University Medical Center. She has a Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Cell and Tissue Engineering.

In 2020 she was selected as UCSF Surgical Innovation Fellow focused on bioreactor optimization in an implantable bioartificial kidney.
